Most teams arrive here with something in place. These pages set out what each product measures, what a pass from it entitles you to conclude, and which of the two is answering the question you actually have.
The line these pages draw
Every product on this list is competent at what it was built for, and several of them are free. The differences worth writing down are not about quality. They are about what the output is and where the decision sits.
A CAPTCHA issues a token that says a browser completed a challenge. A fingerprinting library returns a hash of what the browser reported about itself. A bot management platform sits in the request path and acts. Each of those is an answer to a different question, and a team that has one often still has the other question open.
Heretic returns three verdicts and every finding that produced them, under stable IDs, and applies no policy. What you do with a contradicted session is yours to decide, and we deliberately have no opinion on it. That is the trade: less is decided for you, and you can name the fact behind every decision you make.

The live probe measures the browser you are reading this in and shows the claims and the measurements side by side, with every finding it produced.
